OCC National Tribal Conference 2024

The OCC National Tribal Conference 2024: Maximizing CCDF Funding Through Innovative Fiscal and Program Practices (OCC National Tribal Conference 2024)—which will take place on April 9–11, 2024, at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s Mystic Lake Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota—will bring together Tribal lead agency program and fiscal staff, Office of Child Care (OCC) staff, Office of Grants Management (OGM) staff, and technical assistance (TA) providers to support Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) program implementation, fiscal practices, and the spenddown of CCDF program funds.

Each Tribal lead agency is invited to bring two participants; OCC recommends bringing the Tribal CCDF Administrator and a fiscal management staff member. If you would like to bring more than two people, please email your request to occ-cmc@strategixmanagement.com, copying your Regional Program Manager, by Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Note: Although the OCC National Tribal Conference 2024 will emphasize supporting program and fiscal administration for direct-funded CCDF lead agencies, Public Law 102-477 programs are encouraged to have staff members attend this conference and to participate in sessions relevant to their integrated program.

Attendees at this conference will have opportunities to do the following:

• Engage in topical training, discussion groups, and peer-to-peer exchanges to inform the implementation and programmatic and fiscal administration of your Tribal CCDF program.
• Receive information and resources about how to maximize the effective use of CCDF program funds, the Tribal Child Care Management Systems framework, and CCDF programmatic and fiscal requirements by allocation size.
• Identify areas of strength, areas for improvement, and action steps to ensure that your CCDF program’s services continue to meet the needs of the children and families you serve.
• Interact with your peers to share ideas, strategies, culturally responsive practices, and lessons learned regarding Tribal CCDF programmatic and fiscal administration, management, and implementation as well as the use of CCDF program funds.
• Engage with OCC staff and OGM staff and participate in one-on-one TA activities through office hours to address outstanding and ongoing challenges.
• Collaborate with your counterpart in program or fiscal administration.
